10 Day Slickline Operations PDF

TTC provide a range of Wireline courses for both Slickline and Braided Line operations for personnel from entry level to advanced heavy duty fishing. At the Vause Training Centre in New Plymouth theory, workshop practical and “in-well” training can be provided.

At clients locations the extent of the practical exposure varies with the facilities available on location.

A 5 day version of the 10 day Slickline Operations course is available, without the practical component, and is aimed at supervisory personnel.

5 Days Course description

The 5 day Slickline operations course covers Slickline Operations, Pressure Control, Downhole tools and surface equipment use and limitations. Participants consolidate the classroom theory with practical sessions when a suitably equipped workshop is available.

Knowledge gained is then applied to learn the process of stripping and redressing tools as well as setting up actual cutaways, operated by a surface hand winch, so that the tool operation can be observed. This assists with future “visualization” of tool actions from the surface.

10 Days Course description

The 10 day Slickline operations course covers Slickline Operations, Pressure Control, Downhole tools and surface equipment use and limitations. Participants consolidate the classroom theory with practical sessions in a fully equipped workshop.

Knowledge gained is then applied to learn the process of stripping and redressing tools as well as setting up actual cutaways, operated by a surface hand wince, so that the tool operation can be observed. This assists with future “visualization” of tool actions from the surface.

The final stage of learning is carried out using a wireline unit and surface pressure control equipment rigged up to run tools into a completed 1000 ft well. Each participant gets the opportunity to be lead operator for the duration of each planned activity. The use of pressure and flow can be used to create realistic, but safe conditions.
